Robby was a normal young boy until the age of seven, when he was stricken with a rare form of cancer. He was fortunate to have loving family and friends to help him fight cancer for more than two years. During Robby’s treatment he expressed concern about the lack of activities for other patients and families; Robby felt really bad for some of the little children he met at the hospital because he knew they didn’t have the opportunities for fun that he had.
Robby was a very special child, exhibiting unusual courage and strength for a kid so young. During his sick time he developed two philosophies for coping with his illness: “Never just go to bed and give up” and “Whatever you did to have fun before diagnosis, keep doing it and more!”
Robby Ferrufino died of cancer in August, 1989, at the age of ten.
